Yogurt Toast Custard Breakfast (Printable Version)

# What You Need:

→ Dairy & Eggs

01 - 1/2 cup (120 g) Greek yogurt (plain or vanilla)
02 - 1 large egg
03 - 1–2 tbsp honey or maple syrup

→ Bread

04 - 2 thick slices of bread (brioche, challah, or sourdough)

→ Toppings

05 - 1/3 cup fresh berries (blueberries, raspberries, or sliced strawberries)
06 - 1 tbsp mini chocolate chips or nut butter (optional)

→ Flavorings

07 - 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
08 - Pinch of ground cinnamon (optional)

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - In a bowl, whisk together the Greek yogurt, egg, honey or maple syrup, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until smooth.
03 - Place the bread slices on the prepared baking sheet. Using the back of a spoon, gently press down the center of each slice to create a shallow well, leaving the edges intact.
04 - Spoon the yogurt mixture evenly into the wells of each bread slice.
05 - Top with fresh berries and, if desired, sprinkle with chocolate chips or drizzle with nut butter.
06 - Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the custard is set and the edges of the bread are golden. Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm.

# Additional Notes:

01 - Try adding sliced bananas, peaches, or apple for variety.
02 - Sweeten to taste with more or less honey/maple syrup.
03 - For extra crunch, add a sprinkle of granola after baking.
