01 - Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter or nonstick spray.
02 - Open the cans of cinnamon rolls, reserving the icing for serving. Slice each roll into quarters.
03 - Evenly distribute the quartered cinnamon rolls and diced apples in the prepared baking dish.
04 - In a mixing bowl, whisk eggs, milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, vanilla extract, and salt until well blended.
05 - Pour the custard evenly over the rolls and apples. Gently toss to ensure all pieces are coated.
06 - Drizzle 1/2 cup caramel sauce evenly over the top.
07 - Transfer the dish to the oven and bake for 35 to 40 minutes, until the top is golden and set in the center.
08 - Allow to cool for 10 minutes. Drizzle reserved icing and additional caramel sauce over the casserole before serving.
