Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the asparagus and sauté for 3–4 minutes, until just tender and bright green. Transfer asparagus to a plate and set aside.

Add remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil to the skillet. Add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds, stirring constantly until fragrant.

Add shrimp, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Cook for 2 minutes per side until shrimp turn pink and opaque.

Return asparagus to the skillet. Add lemon zest and juice, tossing everything together for 1–2 minutes to combine and heat through.

Remove from heat, sprinkle with fresh parsley, and serve immediately.
